Our client is a New Zealand electricity generator with over a 25-year history and we are on pursuit for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with a passion for sustainable energy to join their team at their stunning Clyde Hydro facility.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic Asset Management input for discipline, adhering to Contact’s standards.
- Offer formal Engineering advice and continuous technical support.
- Execute Capital and Opex projects, providing risk assessment.
- Support Process Safety projects to enhance overall safety.
- Contribute as SME, ensuring standards meet best practice.
- Hold Discipline Authority responsibilities to manage risks.
- Assist in team development and strategic decision-making.
- Identify and implement system improvements.
Essential skills
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and minimum 10 years in power generation/distribution.
- Proficient in Asset and Life Cycle Management principles and understanding of control and instrumentation systems.
- Professional registration/accreditation highly desirable.
- Extensive operational knowledge of power plant electrical systems.
- Strong risk assessment and project management skills.
- Sound understanding of project and outage management.
- Experience in contract and project management and knowledge of economic analysis in investment.
- Focus on plant capability, reliability, and efficiency.
