Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Tokoroa Hospital as a Public Health Nurse.

As a successful Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in assessing health care trends in the community.

Day-to-day you will be giving health education to patients, family and other healthcare professionals. You will also have the opportunity to do community health assessments, plan for potential disease outbreaks in the community, infectious diseases epidemiology + analyse population data.

This is a part-time (0.8 or 0.9 FTE), permanent position, where you will work Monday to Friday, between 8am to 4:30pm (please note these hours are subject to change.)


Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Assessing healthcare trends in the community
  • Administering immunisations
  • Referring patients to other healthcare professionals
  • Advocating for better healthcare access
  • Designing and implementing health education
