We are looking for one Dental/Oral Health Therapists to join the Outreach team and be based In the Central and North/West Auckland areas.

ARDS is the largest Community Oral Health Service, providing free dental care to children from birth through to year 8, in community clinics. Our service ranges across the wider Auckland region, with multiple dental clinics, including a mobile fleet. For us, care of the child is forefront and we are looking for therapists who are passionate about children, and improving their oral health outcomes. 

You will be working alongside other experienced clinicians in a supportive environment focused on growth and development. Bring your love and passion for the future of our Tamariki to this new and exciting programme. Make a difference with your understanding of Te Ao Māori, unique life experiences and your connection with community to help meet community and whānau needs. 

The outreach model of care will use a targeted methodology that will not only address inequities but utilise an engagement strategy and framework that encourages relationships with our key communities and whanau. A vital part of the programme is to provide dental services onsite to specific priority Mainstream schools and Early childcare centres, Kura Kaupapa, Bi-Lingual units, Kōhanga Reo and Pacific Language nests.

You will be working alongside our wider Outreach and ARDS teams in a supportive environment focused on growth and development. In order to step into this role successfully, you would have;

  • NZ Annual Practising Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience in New Zealand
  • Strong interpersonal skills that allow you to communicate well with the team as well as the patients and their whanau
  • Recognition of and respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • An enthusiasm for working in health and with Tamariki
  • A can do attitude, an ability to problem solve and be flexible to ensure service provision is prioritised
  • A self-directed and motivated approach to your mahi
