Location: Hawkes Bay Hospital

Service: Laboratory

Contract: Permanent, Full-time 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE)
Hours: Monday to Wednesday 2:00pm to 10:30pm, Thursday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Korero mō te tūranga| About the role

Applications are invited for the position of Medical Laboratory Technician or Trainee Medical Laboratory Technician in our Hastings laboratory. The successful candidate will primarily be based in the Core Laboratory, with a home team of Haematology. They will play a key role in registering specimens, and conducting various laboratory tests and procedures to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Our laboratory team is dedicated to providing accurate and timely diagnostic services to support patient care. With a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement, we strive to maintain the highest standards of quality and professionalism in all aspects of our work.

Moū | About you

We are seeking an individual who:

• Has a keen interest or experience in medical laboratory science
• Possesses relevant qualifications or is currently undergoing training as a Medical Laboratory Technician
• Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy in their work
• Is eager to learn and develop their skills in a dynamic healthcare environment
• Ideally, has recent medical laboratory experience and is already registered with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand
