Matariki Hospital is a 32 bedded inpatient rehabilitation continueing care Hospital under the Older Persons Rehab Service (OPR). Our commercial Kitchen services this hospital as well as meals on wheels, to the wider community. The Kitchen assistant role requires full kitchen support to the cook and functions of the kitchen as per the position description.
Experience preferred but not essential, full training and orientation will be given to the successful candidate.

Skills and experience you’ll need to be considered for the role:
Extremely reliable and with a great attendance record
The ability to work within a team
High standard of personal presentation
Able to show care and empathy
The ability to work rostered shifts and duties between the hours of 6.30am & 8.30pm (no more than 8 hours per day). It may include weekends & public holidays

Matariki Hospital is a Continuing Care Facility at Te Awamutu. As part of the Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service, Matariki cares mostly for post-acute patients who have been inpatients at Waikato or Thames hospital and need time to recover prior to discharge home. Matariki has a rehabilitative focus and also cares for palliative patients for end of life care
