Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our team here at Tokoroa Hospital.

As a successful Health Care Assistant, you will play a key role working across Tokoroa Health Services.

Day to day you will be working alongside experienced Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and other Heath Care Assistants, providing care and support in a diverse environment.

This is a Casual position where you will work rotating shifts.


Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Assisting with routine tasks of daily living for patients under delegation and direction from a registered nurse
  • Applying culturally safe principles in the workplace
  • Interacting with others and actively listening in order to gain information
  • Carrying out assigned administrative tasks.
  • Appropriate communication in the workplace

Tokoroa Hospital is committed to offer services to provide health and disability support services across the region. The position will initially be in the inpatient unit and then you will orientate to other areas of the hospital and community service to support our model of a rural health delivery. This position also involves on call support.
