About the Consultant Haematologist role
As a consultant haematologist you will be providing a full diagnostic service and treatment for patients with haematological diseases in the Counties Manukau region.
You will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure that patients receive optimal care.
There is a strong focus on research and quality improvement, as well as the training of junior medical and nursing staff.
Counties Manukau is home to New Zealand’s most diverse population, so there is plenty of opportunity to deal with complex and challenging clinical issues.
The position is full-time role from 8.00am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. There is an additional on-call roster outside normal hours during the week, at weekends and on public holidays with an expected call frequency of 1:8.

Registration information
The ideal applicants for both roles will be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate with the NZ Medical Council, and ideally have subspecialty training in Haematology (FRACP or equivalent).
All applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be committed to continued learning and professional development.
