  • Start Date  - As soon as possible.
  • Hours  - 1 FTE (40 hours a week).
  • Status  - Fixed term until 30th November 2024
  • Location  - Programme Office in Christchurch City Centre.  There may be opportunity for office flex time as might be agreed with other team members.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Holidays Act Remediation and Rectification Programme has been initiated on behalf of the Canterbury and West Coast Districts. We are committed to rectifying breaches of the Holidays Act 2003 and ensuring compliance across all payroll systems and associated processes. Join our team dedicated to remediation activities and ensuring fair treatment for all current and past employees.

As a Project Specialist Payroll Systems, you will play a crucial role in our Rectification team. Reporting to the Rectification Manager, you will contribute to business analysis, design, and the successful delivery of future state system requirements to ensure compliance with the Holidays Act 2003. This hands-on role requires specialist knowledge of existing pay-related systems, data flow, and reporting, as well as close collaboration with users and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct business analysis and design for system requirements.
  • Implement system configurations and upgrades.
  • Collaborate closely with local technical and business teams, as well as vendor staff.
  • Produce programme outputs and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Prioritize and proactively manage time and workload to meet tight deadlines.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of business analysis experience.
  • Specialist payroll systems knowledge.
  • Experience in systems analysis, design, configuration, and implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification.
  • High EQ and diplomatic communication skills.
  • Resilient, energetic, and tenacious with a focus on delivering results.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Technical knowledge of system design and database concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience within large HR/Payroll change projects.
  • Knowledge of CDHB District pay-related systems, particularly PSe and MicRoster.
  • Experience in a health environment or similar context.
