We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at Tokoroa Oral Health, located at Tokoroa Hospital.

If you have experience working within our Māori and Pacific Island communities, we'd love to hear from you!

Your understanding of cultural values and community dynamics will be invaluable as we strive to provide exceptional dental care to all whānau and families.

This is a permanent, full time position where you will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday



Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Assist the dental team with chairside procedures, respecting tikanga and cultural protocols
  • Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures, with care and attention to detail
  • Sterilize and maintain dental equipment and instruments to ensure the highest standards of infection control
  • Embrace Te Reo Māori and Pacific Island languages to connect with + support our diverse patient base
  • Provide compassionate care and manaakitanga to all patients throughout their dental visit

Mōu | About you

  • Strong communication skills + ability to build rapport with people from all walks of life
  • Previous experience in a dental or healthcare setting is an asset – but not essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is advantageous
  • Experience at Kohanga Reo or Pacific language nest would be favourable
