If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team who places great value on putting people first, embedding Te Ao Māori in every-day practice, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together, - then this Adult Consultant Psychiatrist position may be the opportunity for you.  We have a flexible structure whereby the role will commence in the in-patient unit and rotate to community over time.  The role is based in Rotorua but could involve some clinic days at the satellite office in Taupo.

The successful candidate will have:

•    A broad range of general psychiatric skills

•    Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with Medical Council of NZ

•  Enjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students as well as registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCP

The role:

•    Busy role with a broad variety of general psychiatry

•    1:7 on call roster

Lakes DHB serves a population of just over 118,000 and covers 9,570 square kilometres. It stretches from Mourea in the north to Mangakino in the west, down to Turangi in the south and across to Kaingaroa village in the east.
