Te Whiwhinga Mahi : Opportunity

We have a Fixed Term Full-time vacancy (10mths) for an experienced Senior Social worker to work in our Community for Older Adults & Home care services team. This position covers West Auckland and will be based at Waitakere hospital.

Nga Pukenga Motuhake: Important Skills

  •  A minimum of 5yrs experience preferred including some experience in a social work leadership role
  • Has previous community and/or hospital social work experience providing therapeutic social work interventions
  • A strong family and whānau centred approach with skill in complex problem solving and working with grief and loss 
  • Knowledge and understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi, and experience of working with Māori and people of diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Effective communications skills, leadership and experience with team facilitation and coordination
  • Holds a Bachelor of Social work and is New Zealand registered with an Annual Practice Certificate or have an equivalent overseas registration and are in the process of registering in New Zealand
  • A good team Player and able to work independently
  • A strong work ethic
