Service:    Maternity Unit

Contract:   Permanent - Part time 0.6 FTE - pro rata salary for part time

Salary:     MERAS Senior midwife scale Grade 4 Step 1 ($108,785) to Step 3 ($120,199)

      NZNO Senior midwife scale Grade 4 Step 1 (107,146) to Step 3 ($117,863)

       NB: SECA pay increase pending

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and innovative professional who wishes to work with the senior midwifery team to lead and support our midwifery and nursing team to provide exceptional maternity care. 

As one of our Clinical Midwife Managers (CMMs), you will work across the unit to provide midwifery clinical leadership, foster good multidisciplinary relationships, positively contribute to our learning and improvement culture and be responsible for day to day management of the birthing suite and clinical leadership in the maternity ward areas.

Our unit is a friendly, busy secondary care maternity unit centred on the needs of pregnant people, their babies and whānau, working hard to deliver a seamless service with our Lead Maternity Carer colleagues and the community. 

This is a permanent position, working rostered and rotating shifts.

Moū - About you

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Proven leadership capabilities 
  • Comprehensive midwifery skills and knowledge
  • A minimum of 5 years midwifery experience 
  • A culturally sensitive attitude 
  • A sound pregnant person-centred philosophy of care 

You must be registered with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and hold a current APC. Ideally you will have have worked in a similar role.
