Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Our Maintenance and Operations (M&O) team is responsible for keeping the transport system operational and optimised to meet the needs of all New Zealanders. As part of this, the Practice Area Team ensures that there is national consistency and best practice across the M&O business.

The Advisor, Practice Area Team is a key role in making connections, managing relationships, and communicating and coordinating across M&O team. You will provide guidance and coordination across multiple programmes and projects led by the Practice Area Team and delivered through the wider regional teams. You will also support, influence, and facilitate across M&O to turn standards and policy into practice, connect teams across and outside the business, and have a future focus with continuous improvement and feedback to the team.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in a similar advisor level role.
  • Proven experience managing relationships, and leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to translate strategic concepts into priorities, plans and outcomes.
  • Facilitation of workshops both internally and externally.
  • Project management experience and a strong achievement/delivery focus.
  • Solid organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, stay calm when dealing with matters of high priority and changing circumstances.
