We are looking for both an Adviser and a Senior Analyst to join the Enforcement team within the Enforcement and Resolution Department here at Te Pūtea Matua. The Enforcement team is responsible for investigating and taking enforcement action where non-compliance with the legislation that the Reserve Bank is responsible for enforcing is identified.

Ō pūkenga - About you

You're an excellent communicator, with an analytical mind, who has the ability to provide intellectual and organisational leadership to those around you. You have a strong working understanding of the laws and practices of at least one of the sectors we regulate, of developing investigation and enforcement policies, processes and procedures, as well as practical, professional experience in conducting regulatory investigations and/or facilitating enforcement actions in order to achieve statutory or strategic objectives.

Adviser, Enforcement

The Adviser, Enforcement is a senior role demonstrating technical expertise and leadership. As the Adviser, Enforcement you will strengthen and develop investigation and enforcement policies and procedures, including in preparation for the new enforcement powers that are introduced under the Deposit Takers Act. You will also be responsible for investigating potential breaches of legislation that Te Pūtea Matua is responsible for enforcing and for recommending and coordinating enforcement action where appropriate.

As an Adviser, you will have:

  • At least 7 years' professional experience within the relevant fields in the public or private sectors.
  • A degree in law, economics, finance, or another enforcement related discipline.
  • Deep working knowledge of, and practical experience in regulatory investigations and enforcement practices.
  • Familiarity with the Reserve Bank's published enforcement framework.
  • A broad understanding of one or more of the banking, NBDT, AML or insurance sectors

Senior Analyst, Enforcement

As a Senior Analyst, Enforcement you will investigate potential breaches of the legislation that the Reserve Bank administers and recommending and facilitate the taking of enforcement action where appropriate. You will contribute to enforcement policy work and will take a leading role in the continued development and implementation of processes, frameworks, systems and functions to ensure that RBNZ fulfils its enforcement responsibilities.

As a Senior Analyst, you will have:

  • At least four years' professional experience within the relevant fields in the public or private sectors.
  • A degree in law, economics, finance, or another enforcement related discipline.
  • Practical experience in regulatory investigations and enforcement practices.
  • Strong drafting and interviewing skills and a close attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce well-written work.
