Manager Market Intelligence and Analysis

  • A key management position in the Financial Markets Directorate
  • Lead an expert team providing insights to the Bank's policymakers and contributing to the broader work of the department

Do you want to lead a team with a broad mandate to deliver influential advice and insights to assist the formulation of monetary and financial policy and the management of the Bank's balance sheet?

Te tūranga - The role
In this role you will lead a team responsible for the production of high-quality analysis and advice to the Bank's policy committees, within the department and across the Bank generally. The team is required to have a deep understanding of financial markets, the global economic environment, and how these interact with the New Zealand economy. Your team develops and maintains models that contribute quantitative information to inform advice. You will be required to provide strategic direction and leadership to the team and build effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.

As a member of the department's management team, you will provide leadership and insight on operational, policy and management matters of the Financial Markets Directorate.

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Experience leading a team to deliver outstanding outcomes
  • Comprehensive financial markets and macroeconomics experience
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information to a variety of audiences
  • The ability to motivate and develop a team of analysts with a range of experience levels, across multiple locations
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
  • A post-graduate degree in Economics or related discipline, with a strong analytical background
