OneStaff New Plymouth is the leading supplier of temporary and permanent staff to many industrial-based clients in New Plymouth.
Our client is a local family business who have grown and developed consistently for 73 years. With showrooms in New Plymouth and Stratford, a complete range of furniture is on offer from traditional to modern urban styles including the latest sleek motorised designs.
Both stores also provide a myriad of flooring options with 9 experienced floor layers and 2 apprentices. Due to a position opening up our client is now looking for a junior floor layer / delivery driver to join their team.
You will be undertaking flooring preparation as required and lay flooring products under supervision as well as assisting with deliveries from both Stratford and New Plymouth stores as required.
Duties will include but aren’t limited to;
- Assist with deliveries
- Assist with unpacking and assembling furniture as required
- Soilguard furniture
- Uplift any existing flooring and dispose of in waste bin at carpet warehouse (unless otherwise advised)
- Lay flooring products under supervision as detailed in plan and as per quotation
- To assist with keeping carpet warehouse and storerooms clean and tidy at all times
- Ensure vehicles are clean, tidy and road legal at all times
- Ensure all work sites are left in a clean, professional manner and dispose of any rubbish
- Return any property keys to Flooring Manager or return to customer
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following;
- Physically able to manage job requirements
- Reliable with good time management
- Minimum restricted drivers license
- Be able to problem solve
- Good communication skills

This is a full-time permanent role Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm, working on average 42 hours per week
