This role is varied with client connections, operations oversight geographically spread and ultimately provides a positive impact on the local communities within the islands, leaving a legacy interwoven with our purpose of providing a better life.

About the Role

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, the General Manager - Pacific Islands will:
  • Implement and deliver a strategic plan across the region
  • Lead the development and improvement of the region's business performance
  • Strengthen new business and client relationships across the Pacific Region
  • Understand and drive commercial outcomes, working closely with the Commercial Manager
  • Lead, through values-based behaviour and decision making, instilling a mindset of innovation and continuous business/individual improvement
  • Drive and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage Pacific region business risks to uphold the McConnell Dowell reputation and enhance performance
  • Develop and implement the business plan and budget
  • Collaborate with members of the senior leadership team to optimise business solutions across the regions.
About your capability, behaviours and experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in similar leadership positions
  • Must have experience in the civil infrastructure industry with particular focus on engineering
  • Experience in the Pacific Islands would be advantageous
  • Experience in developing and retaining high performing teams
  • Significant leadership of engineering and project management teams
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (BEng)
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders (customers, regulators, suppliers)
  • Capable of analysing technical and financial reports with the purpose of taking definitive action
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and succeed in high pressure environment
  • Clear and definitive communication skills
  • Ensure compliance with the Company's and Client's Health & Safety, Security, and Ethics & Compliance Policy.
